“Have a dream, start small, and believe.”

As I was reading the article (click here to read full story) about African architect Francis Kere who uses mud to create clever architecture in Burkina Faso, I was amazed how brilliant a simple idea can be. He was trained in Germany in wood-work, something not really useful in a area where wood is scarce. However, he used his science background to develop buildings adapted to the environment and his knowledge of local culture to work with the local population’s needs, motivate and convince them (the project was built as a community endeavour).
